Rob and Ken (Creekside Langley people) have formed a band. They have an apocalyptic emphasis in their music. If you’d like to hear them, come to the House of James in Abbotsford on April 28, 2006 at 8:30 p.m. They’re in concert and would love to have your support.

Hi Creeksiders,
I am so excited about last weekend! 50 people (25 from each campus) visited over 400 homes with a Pay It Forward gift from Creekside. This was a real win for us and it was so much fun. You have to check out the Langley pictures and North Shore pictures here. Thanks so much to everyone who worked behind the scenes and who showed up to make this happen.
It was a team effort…
Dan Fleming and Mike & Andrea McGill did an awesome job of organizing the whole thing with their willing helpers.
Jonathan Penner designed the cards.
Jessica Davis did a lot of research to get the gloves at a good price.
Then 50 people took to the streets and honored God!
Someone asked why we did not have a thousand gloves. You have to love that enthusiasm!

Easter is one of those huge deals for Christ followers and it is an excellent time to connect with your friends who have questions about God.
We have two events planned to help unpack what Easter is all about:

Connecting
It’s Friday evening, 7:00 p. m. at Deer Lake School, 5550 Gilpin, Burnaby.
The Thursday before Jesus died He connected with his Jewish roots by celebrating The Passover and showing how it was fleshed out in His life. We are going to relive that experience by connecting ancient traditions with present reality. Children will play a special part in this family friendly experience.
This will be a great time for Creeksiders from both campuses to connect. Invite your friends as well. This will be an experience as we remember Jesus - who He is and what He has done.

Saturday Gathering
At 10:30 a.m. at each campus we continue our series, “Who is Jesus?” Last week we talked about The Man who is fully human and experiences the full range of human emotions. He intentionally connects with people at their lowest point.
This week we talk about The Mystery – There are some things about life and Jesus and his teachings that are really hard to wrap your head around. Here is one confusing thing that we are going to talk about this week:
Why is it so few of us get to experience greatness, power, and success? Jesus deals with this question at a time when His life seems to be a total failure. His conclusions could lead you to think and live in totally new ways.
Have a wonderful Easter weekend and I’ll look for you!

Bring your work gloves, rakes, hand tools, window squeegees….and come to FVAA for our Annual Spring Work Bee, April 9, 2006.
We are having a potluck lunch around 1 pm, so bring your favorite picnic food also.
Remember that lots of hands make light work. See you there.

Both campuses, Creekside Langley and Creekside North Shore, are launching a new initiative called "Pay It Forward". A fun project for all ages, its purpose is to serve our neighbours in our immediate communities.
Our "Pay It Forward" team leader, Dan Fleming, is planning our first event for April 8th, 2006 after service. It will begin at 1:30pm to 2:45pm.
Our first project involves handing out gloves with a card from Creekside to our church's neighbours in their respective communities.
See you there!

Jehanna, one of our Creekside Youth, is on another mission trip this spring break to Juarez, Mexico.
Jehanna had been to Juarez in the Summer of 2005, and here's what she had to say…
"…it was one of the best experiences in my life.
We built a house when we were down there and we intend to do the same when we go down this March.
We were also given the opportunity to work with young children and to participate in an outdoor church through a pastor we met while working in Mexico.
Once again, we will be working with a non-profit organization out of Mexico called Casas Por Cristo meaning 'Homes Because of Christ'. This organization builds homes for needy families across Juarez and other parts of Mexico.
Last August, we built a 22ft by 11ft home for a family of 5. This year, we will be building a slightly bigger house as there are more members of the family. This is a huge blessing to the family as they live in 'houses' made of cardboard, scattered bricks, wooden pallets, and anything else they can find.
…I would also be honored if you could pray for me and my team as we will be in potentially dangerous situations and faced with a week of hard work in building this house. Every little bit helps and I need every bit of help right now. Whether it be through prayer or funds, I really thank you for your help. I'm still a little nervous about going even though I’ve been there once before and experienced a different culture.
Thanks so much, love ya!"
Our prayers are with you, Jehanna. We hope to publish photos of her trip here when she returns.
[Update: Jehanna has returned home safely, and has provided us with pictures of her trip. Enjoy! Jehanna, thank you & praise God for your willingness to serve and heart for our neighbours internationally]
