Youth with 'Casas Por Cristo' building homes in Mexico

Jehanna, one of our Creekside Youth, is on another mission trip this spring break to Juarez, Mexico.

Jehanna had been to Juarez in the Summer of 2005, and here's what she had to say…

"…it was one of the best experiences in my life.

We built a house when we were down there and we intend to do the same when we go down this March.

We were also given the opportunity to work with young children and to participate in an outdoor church through a pastor we met while working in Mexico.

Once again, we will be working with a non-profit organization out of Mexico called Casas Por Cristo meaning 'Homes Because of Christ'. This organization builds homes for needy families across Juarez and other parts of Mexico.

Last August, we built a 22ft by 11ft home for a family of 5. This year, we will be building a slightly bigger house as there are more members of the family. This is a huge blessing to the family as they live in 'houses' made of cardboard, scattered bricks, wooden pallets, and anything else they can find.

…I would also be honored if you could pray for me and my team as we will be in potentially dangerous situations and faced with a week of hard work in building this house. Every little bit helps and I need every bit of help right now. Whether it be through prayer or funds, I really thank you for your help. I'm still a little nervous about going even though I’ve been there once before and experienced a different culture.

Thanks so much, love ya!"

Our prayers are with you, Jehanna. We hope to publish photos of her trip here when she returns.
[Update: Jehanna has returned home safely, and has provided us with pictures of her trip. Enjoy! Jehanna, thank you & praise God for your willingness to serve and heart for our neighbours internationally]
